The title of our Educational Research Team’s BK21 Project is “Interaction English Studies in the Era of AI (Artificial Intelligence).”

Global environmental problems and the spread of infections caused a pandemic that is requiring us to reflect on our relationship with the environment and to build a new way of life. Advanced technology enabled by the Fourth Industrial Revolution is disclosing the urgent need to develop a “humanized technology” that emphasizes human values rather than uncritically collaborating with the technology that replaces humans by exploiting our weaknesses.

The goal of our education research team is to raise future academics who may creatively cooperate and share their skills as well as apply English language and literature studies in real-life activities. Our project’s “interaction English studies,” with a focus on ‘human-environment interaction” and “human-technology interaction,” will empower students to overcome the apparent gap between the English department and their post-graduation lives. Professors participating in our research team are actively involved in education and research related to environmental studies, literature, art, medical science, cognitive science, neuroscience and AI. This focus may help diversify students’ future careers and help to build the social infrastructure that is necessary for making digital technology truly revolutionary.
We will do our best to provide a new education and research model to achieve these goals.
