Introduction to the Department of FinTech

• The Department of FinTech was established in September 2020 with a need to build convergence education for cultivating experts who will initiate innovation in the financial industry.
• It is a graduate program mainly focused on nurturing outstanding talents to become leaders who will spearhead innovation in the financial industry following the government education strategy on the future generation.
• Three different departments(Finance, Statistics, AI/Software) participate and offer various convergence courses. Students who enroll in these associated departments are free to choose whether to complete a coursework of their original major or FinTech. Depends on students’ choice and completion of required coursework, they can acquire MS/Ph.D. degree in their original major or FinTech.
• By providing flexible courses and policies, our program actively supports interdisciplinary education and synergy.

Educational Vision & Mission

• Department of FinTech constructed a research & education center with professors from Finance, Data Science, and AI and established a vision to shape students into global AI finance experts.
• Following the educational vision, we set detailed missions in four main sectors: education, research, globalization, and industry-university collaboration.
• We established three main strategies to reach our vision and mission: courses specialized in AI Finance, education based on data analysis, global education/research hub.
