- Sungkyunkwan University College of Arts Engages in Prototype Game Development Competition with NYU Using a Famous IP. The College of Arts at Sungkyunkwan University announced the first-round selections for the game proposals developed through the "Capstone Game Design" class. A total of five proposals were chosen, and the selected students will now proceed to develop prototype games based on their ideas. During the previous semester, students taking the Capstone Game Design class planned games utilizing famous content IPs. Subsequently, a total of 14 teams participated in a contest hosted by the upcoming (provisional) Game Design Department at our university, under the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Plask Inc. After comprehensive evaluations considering originality, feasibility, and marketability, five proposals were selected. The chosen proposals will be developed under the guidance of Professor Lee Jaejoon from the Film and Video Department in the upcoming semester as part of the "Global Capstone Game Design" course. These projects will compete against prototype games created by NYU students using the same IP in December this year. The winning game from the final contest will go through a commercialization process and be released as the actual playable version after approximately six months. Starting in 2024, Sungkyunkwan University plans to establish a graduate program called the Game Design Department, aiming to be aligned with prestigious universities like MIT, NYU, Carnegie Mellon, and USC, in creating humanities and arts-focused game-specialized departments. This program aims to cultivate global researchers and top-notch game talents in the gaming industry, in line with future-oriented industrial environments in Korea. A university representative from the College of Arts stated, "We are creating specialized programs that enable students to conduct various research and gain practical experience in the gaming industry based on advanced curricula, industry collaborations, and programs like showcases."

- Global Water Dances
- Global Water Dances In 2008, a university in England had held a meeting on “Dance & the Environment”. The scholars of dance who studied ‘Movement Analysis’, chose the theme of environmental issue as “water” due to the common characteristic between water and movement of dance, “flow”. The event named “Global Water Dances” was made to show everyone’s resolution by dancing together to suggest the importance of water. “Dance altogether” was inspired by “Movement Choir” which Laban, the theorist of contemporary dance and choreographer, had advocated. It also has message of raising our voices by doing same movement, and it can be thought as “Flash Mob” of nowadays. In 2011, Global Water Dances event was first held simultaneously in 57 cities around the world on the weekend with ‘World Oceans Day’. This year, 2021, 10th anniversary celebration was held in 138 cities around the world at a similar time slot considering local time of each country. South Korea first participated in the event, which has been held biennially, in 2017, and at first, it was held in Cheonggyecheon Stream, but in Myeongnyundang, located in Sungkyunkwan, since 2019. With dearest wish for letting clear water stream of Okryucheon Stream revive, which starts from east stream of Mt. Bukak, passes spring of Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace, and joins Cheonggyecheon Stream, the event has been held in Myeongnyundang, Sungkyunkwan. ※ Film link : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cVlp8n_zG3kanPOaUFEjpjha2c4ea5Oy/view?usp=sharing
