1. Hello, please introduce yourself first.
Hello! I'm Kwon Hyun-jae, a sophomore in the Global Business Administration Department. I'm in the 21st grade, finished my freshman year and joined the military, and returned to school this year. So I've never experienced such a bustling school life. It was awkward at first, but now I'm enjoying my school life.
2. Please give us a brief acceptance speech about the selection of Jungbong Dongmun Scholarship Students for the 2024 school year.
Thank you for helping me focus better on my studies. When I was a freshman, I had relatively little time to spend on my studies because of part-time work or extracurricular work, but now I have more time to devote to my studies as I received a scholarship. I am grateful that I can get more opportunities to explore my career path through the scholarship.
3. Do you have a secret to achieving excellent academic performance?
It was important to listen to the professor's class carefully and to grasp the professor's own style. During the semester, I asked the professor a lot of questions, and I studied by grasping what the professor thought was the most important part through the contents of his usual class and assignments. Even in the same subject, each professor has a more focused teaching part, so if you know that, it will be more helpful when studying.
4. What is the most memorable thing about your school life?
In February 2022, a month before I joined the military, the performance I performed at the freshman learning center was the most memorable. After entering the school, I worked for Steroid, a global business management band, and at that time, due to COVID-19, I couldn't perform what I wanted or have a proper meeting. But then I had only one chance and I was able to perform in the only band in my college life. Although it was only three songs, I remember having so much fun practicing with my friends.
5. Are there any on-campus or off-campus activities you are currently active in?
I am currently working for the 'FC Cheol gak cheon ha' club at the school. I originally liked soccer, and while looking for a team to play soccer with after entering college, I joined the FC Cheol gak cheon ha club with a large scale and many award-winning performances. While playing soccer together, I can interact with seniors and juniors not only from the global business department, but also from other departments, I can take care of my health by exercising regularly during my school life. As I love soccer very much, I am also relieved of stress. The team is in the best mood as it won the first semester of the 'Seongchuckbae' school soccer competition!
6. What are your future career paths and goals?
First of all, I want to gain a little more experience abroad. I learned English in Korea and went to school, so I didn't know many things. However, as I served in the military as a KATUSA, interest in various cultures increased, and I would like to learn more through exchange students. I am not sure yet, but I am currently interested in strategic consulting. It was because I found it attractive to form a team and decide the direction of the business. Therefore, I would like to have various experiences and expand my knowledge during the rest of my school life to solidify my thoughts on the areas of interest!
7. Lastly, is there anything you would like to share with your classmates at the business school?
I think I'm less interested in school-funded programs than I thought! If you look at the business school website, there are many opportunities from scholarships to overseas university programs, but there are times when it's a shame that many classmates don't seem to use them. I also watch those things and tell them a lot if I have a friend who can recommend them. I think your school life can be enriched if you use those things well.
