The micro analysis lab is studying microstructure of materials using various electron beam produced from the collision of the short wavelength of electron beam with objects. There are transmission electron, secondary electron, back-scattering electron and specific x-ray beam. The Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including Cs-Transmission Electron Microscopes, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope/Energy Dispersive Systems, to perform microstructure analysis required in physics, chemistry, basic science, information telecommunication and life science. The Lab provides image analysis, crystal structure analysis and chemical element analysis of nano-materials.
Key activities
- Observation of microstructure of materials
- Analysis of diffraction pattern of crystal-property materials
- Observation of particle shape and size of powder samples
- - Qualitative and quantitative micro-chemical analysis using the EDS/WDS system
