SKKU has been ranked as the second best university in the nation for 2018 Global Ph.D. Fellowship (GPF) project that is sponsored by the government and secured a total of 3.3 billion won of the government support grants. In addition, the Undergraduate Research Program (URP) has been selected as the top university nationwide for five consecutive years.
The GPF project supported by the Ministry of Education to foster world-class doctoral researchers provides 30 million won per graduate student for the purposes of tuition fee, living expenses, and academic activities throughout the period of combined master’s-doctorate degree program (5years) and doctoral course (3years).
The result of the program is very meaningful because it is a barometer of research excellence of graduate schools and is being used as a motive for undergraduate students entering graduate school.
On September 4th (Tue) at the Natural Science Campus and on 6th (Thursday) at the Humanities and Social Science Campus, the main representatives including the president of SKKU, students, and the faculty members participating in the project gathered together to celebrate the selection of the project and to exchange information in research and academics.
"Throughout the GPF/URP project’s excellent performances, opportunities to enter our graduate school have been expanded while our university’s status is growing. I would like to encourage students to devote themselves for creative and challenging research projects and hope to produce world-class research results," said the President CHUNG.
