Sungkyunkwan University's 'Creative Informatics' program, named as 'C-School', is a specialized education program which receives funding from the Korean Ministry of Education. This program was selected as one of the best university education programs to develop a talented workforce who will lead the Korean economy and society in the future. From 2014 to 2019, the Korean Government will contribute $3.5 million annually to SKKU's C-School program.
The C-School's vision is to foster talented students with a comprehensive understanding of the global issues of Work, Learning, & Health. These global issues refer to the fields expected to generate high-value-added jobs and solid growth in the future, which cannot be resolved without the convergence of related areas. The C-School's educational focus is on Informatics. Informatics may be defined as the creation of valuable, meaningful information out of large sources of data. The program utilizes multidisciplinary groups of students from diverse fields of study including Education, Economics, Business, Design, Software, and Biomedical Engineering. Our goal is to enhance student learning by combining informatics with the students' own expertise.
