Sungkyunkwan University's 'Creative Informatics' program, named as 'C-School', is a specialized education program which receives funding from the Korean Ministry of Education. This program was selected as one of the best university education programs to develop a talented workforce who will lead the Korean economy and society in the future. From 2014 to 2019, the Korean Government will contribute $3.5 million annually to SKKU's C-School program.
The C-School's vision is to foster talented students with a comprehensive understanding of the global issues of Work, Learning, & Health. These global issues refer to the fields expected to generate high-value-added jobs and solid growth in the future, which cannot be resolved without the convergence of related areas. The C-School's educational focus is on Informatics. Informatics may be defined as the creation of valuable, meaningful information out of large sources of data. The program utilizes multidisciplinary groups of students from diverse fields of study including Education, Economics, Business, Design, Software, and Biomedical Engineering. Our goal is to enhance student learning by combining informatics with the students' own expertise.

Department in Detail 
C-Office offers C-School students professional advice and support services for all of their academic activities. C-Advisors provide assistance to students through advisory services and coaching related to the curriculum, learning, programs, and career paths available at C-School.
Students may have their academic records managed through CI Competencies Assessment and E-Portfolio at the C-Office. Appointments can be made for an advisory session using the “C-Advisor Reservation” section on the CIHE homepage or by phone.
There are 3D printers, Littlebits kits, LEGO Mindstorm EV3 Kits for students in the C-Office.

As the needs of information security in the computing environment such as; cloud computing, IOT, mobile computing, and various smart devices are rapidly increasing, the Department of Information Security aims to educate information security professionals with practical experience. By using information security systems, identifying and analyzing problems of right and adverse effect, problem solving capabilities are cultivated.
By analyzing information security policies and recent trends, application capabilities are acquired. To solve information security problems in information and communication, basic theory, up-to-date issues and theorys will be studied. The engineering capability to adopt solutions to communication security and network security is enhanced.
As a material society, where every device has the capability to share and communicate information, the importance of such information is being highlighted even more than before; therefore putting emphasis on the necessity of professionals in information protection fields, who can safely manage crucial data.
Moreover, the demand for a labor force that can react against the wide-range of cyber crimes that are now prominent, are increasing day-to-day. The Department of Information Security, in order to fulfill this present demand, intends to train students in such an area.
