The Examination for Thesis Submission Qualification for the Spring semester of 202 is accepted as follows, so students wishing to take the exam or Exemption must apply within the period.

If you have not completed Examination for Thesis Submission Qualification(major, foreign language), you cannot apply for a Thesis Defense.

If you have not completed either the thesis submission qualification test (foreign language) or (major), you cannot apply for the a Thesis Main Defense.  Both must be completed.

※ You can never apply after the deadline for applying for Examination for Thesis Submission Qualification.

※ Students wishing to be exempted from the Examination for Thesis Submission Qualification(foreign language) must also apply to GLS within this period.

※ The Examination for Thesis Submission Qualification(foreign language) and Examination for Thesis Submission Qualification(major) must be applied respectively.

※ Applicants for the qualification test will be notified of the list of applicants on the website after the application deadline, so please check the application details and omission later.

 ※ Those who submit official language scores must also apply by March 7th (Friday), and if you obtain official language scores among test applicants, you can submit additional proof of exemption by March 24th.

4. How to complete: Apply for one of the two below
① apply exam: Take the School Examination and get 70 or more points
② Exemption: If you are applying for exemption, please be sure to upload a valid official test certificate.

   ※ If you apply for Exemption, please upload the currently valid official test certificate (within two years of validity) to the GLS system.

   ※ For TOEIC, TOEFL must enter only the score.

   ※ For OPIC, please write the number in the final score only for IM grade, and only "IM" (without number) for the grade.(IH only lists grades)

※ For OPIC, enter the scores and rating for IM only, and for IH enter only the grade.

  (ex. If your have IM2, enter "2" in the score and "IM" in the rating.)

※ For TOPIK must enter only the grade.

■ Examination for Thesis Submission Qualification(major)

1. Eligibility

1. Eligibility: All Students

① Master's Course: students who obtained minimum 15 credits with Min. GPA of B (3.0)

② Doctoral Course: students who obtained minimum 27 credits with Min. GPA of B (3.0)

③ Combined Master's & Doctoral: students who obtained minimum 39 credits with Min. GPA of B (3.0)

2. Requirements: Refer to the attached file.

3. Application period: Mar 4 (Tue) ~ Mar 7 (Fri) 2025 (Only students who applied within the application period can submit evidence.)

※ Submission period for evidential documents: April 1 (Tue) ~ April 9 (Wed) 2025

4. How to complete

① After applying for the examination at GLS, submit evidence during the submission period.

② Completion requirements: Completion process only when both the major knowledge requirements (at least two major subjects or four subjects are A credits) and research results (publishing papers, presenting conferences, etc.) are met

③ To Whom: Students who are scheduled to conduct a Thesis Main Defense(본심사) in the 2025-Spring semester

⑤ Method of submitting evidence: In order to pass the “Qualifying Exam (Major)”, you must submit the completed “Application for Qualifying Exam (Major)” form and evidences of requirements" in the Submission period for evidential documents.
