QAE5001 Basics for Quantitative Analysis 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Korean Yes
This course aims to study statistical and econometric techniques that are the basis for economic data analysis. We discuss linear regression, maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), general rate estimation (GMM), etc., which are widely used in economic data analysis, and introduce LASSO and Principal Component Analysis related to high dimensional data. Moreover, We learn how to use the R program and estimate and test a variety of econometric models using real economic data.
QAE5002 Empirical Microeconomics 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Korean Yes
This course develops the theoretical capacity required to interpret the results of empirical analysis using data. Also, this course is divided into two parts. First, theoretical microscopy focuses on analyzing the issues of microeconomics and deriving interpretations and policy implications. In Managerial economics, the other part of applied microeconomics, we analyze corporate strategies to devise efficient corporate organization and management methods. Additionally, we need to build the necessary theoretical skills to design various mechanisms for incentives such as compensation for wages and non-wage within the organization.
QAE5003 Empirical Macroeconomics 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Korean Yes
In this course, students will learn how the key variables of macro economy are determined and related with such as GDP, interest rate, inflation and unemployment rate. In addition, we study various foreign balances, international capital flows and exchange rates, which are important for understanding the characteristics of the open economy like Korea. Furthermore, we studies the role and effects of macroeconomic policy such as fiscal policy and monetary Policy on the theoretical foundation to understand and predict economic fluctuations in the short term and economic growth in the long term. The lessons for each subject are conducted in parallel with theoretical learning and analysis using real cases and data.
