2019 X-Corps Festival Gold Award (Chairman Award of the Korean Research Foundation)
U-CON, a design team of U-CON, a Korean university's industrial-academic engineering convergence, won the "National Muscular Award," a grand prize for creative design of the 1919 National Engineering Festival, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and co-sponsored by the Korea Agency for Industrial Technology Promotion and the Council for Engineering Education Innovation. He was then recognized as the strongest man by winning the gold prize "Korea Research Foundation Chairman Award" consecutively at the "2019 X-Corps Festival" hosted by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Information and Communication and jointly organized by the Korea Research Foundation and the X-Corps Council at the ICC Hotel in Daejeon on Nov. 29.
Out of the total 1,000 works performed at 90 engineering schools nationwide, the "2019 Engineering and Education Festival's Creative Design Competition" qualified 145 teams selected through the campus capstone design competition. As the final winners will be selected through on-site screening on the day of the festival for the 22 main prize screening teams selected from the preliminary round, it is more meaningful because they were selected through a very intense process.
U-CON presented a new charging model in the future mobile market by developing and developing a system to charge selectively, sequentially and autonomously multiple electric vehicles parked under the theme of "Rail Mobile Electric Vehicle Self-Charging Robot" for the past year and eight months. U-CON was able to conduct research with the support of various institutions and projects in the school, including engineering colleges, software universities, engineering education innovation support projects, S-Hero projects, industrial and academic cooperation groups, and start-up support groups along with the discovery of problems among team members, self-directed learning, passion and teamwork, and thus to enhance the level and level of research, and thus gain recognition of efforts at the national competition for advancement. In addition, officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, who attended the ceremony, expressed a lot of interest by listening to students and experts on support measures for commercialization.

2019 X-Corps Festival Bronze Award (X-Corps Council President Award) -
The winning team of the "2019 X-Corps Festival" will be selected by conducting preliminary rounds for 400 teams nationwide and screening 40 teams that advance to the finals. U-CON, Bangyeol Hero, CIA (team member Kim Ho-joon, Bae Jae-ho, Cheon Ji-hyun, and Choi Eun-sun) / Graduate students' mentors Kim Won-kyu, Park Se-hwan, a master's degree in Future Yonghak City Engineering, / Professor Nam Sang-hyeok of Industrial Mentors / Professor Nam Hyeok / Department of Construction and Environmental Engineering Park Hyuk-hyeok, EC Under the theme of "High Thermal Conductivity Film Using Carbon Material/Nano Particle Composite Thin Film," the team performed research on heat-resistance film suitable for small devices and was honored for presenting a new model of heat-proof film to the future heat-proof film market.
Students of the school who participated in the 2019 Engineering Festival Creative Design Competition and the 2019 X-Corps Festival said they were "surprised by the high level of performance of other university teams, and are more motivated to see so many students working hard with new ideas."
Professor Yoo Ji-beom, director of the Center for Engineering Education Innovation, said, "Our university offers various opportunities to students who are willing to grow on their own initiative through curriculums, comparative courses and various projects. The award provided a chance to once again confirm the infinite possibilities and potential of university students," he said, adding that the government plans to establish a systematic experience-based self-directed learning environment in the future.
