Announcement for the Application for Double Major on the 1st Semester of 2024

1. Eligibility and Enrollment: Once selected for a double major, students can register for double major courses as one of their majors during the course registration period in the summer break before the start of the 2024 fall semester. The double major designation will be officially applied starting from the first day of the 2024 fall semester.

2.   Pre-Evaluation Departments: For the majors requiring pre-evaluation, even if the pre-evaluation is approved, you must apply for the double major through GLS. Failure to apply through GLS will result in disqualification from selection.

3.   Abolishment of Intensive Double Major: Applications for intensive double majors are no longer accepted.

4.   Inquiries: For further inquiries, please contact the administrative office of your college or the Academic Call Center at 1811-8585.

General Double Major

1.   Application Eligibility: 

Students who have enrolled for at least 3 semesters or transfer students who have enrolled for at least 2 semesters.

Students who are not subject to department entry can apply after 2 semesters of enrollment.

For departments with limited capacity, only students who have enrolled for at least 3 semesters (new entrants) or 2 semesters (transfer students) can apply.

*Limited capacity departments: Business, Economics, Statistics, International Trade, Entrepreneurship, Software.

*Only currently enrolled students can apply for departments with limited capacity; students on leave cannot apply. Students planning to take leave in the next semester (fall 2024) can apply but will be excluded from selection if they take leave during the current semester (unless the leave is for military service after the 1st semester grades are acknowledged).

Self-Designed Interdisciplinary Major: New entrants must have enrolled for at least 4 to 5 semesters, and transfer students must have enrolled for 2 to 3 semesters.

2.   Selection Criteria: 

Departments without selection restrictions: All applicants who meet the basic eligibility criteria are selected.

Pre-Evaluation Departments: Only those who pass the pre-evaluation and apply through GLS are selected.

Limited Capacity Departments:   Selection is based on the number of semesters enrolled (up to 5) and academic performance, with priority given to students with higher GPA within the allowed capacity.

*Required Credits per Enrollment Period: 3 semesters (40 credits), 4 semesters (55 credits), 5 semesters (70 credits), 6 semesters (85 credits), 7 semesters (100 credits), 8 or more semesters (115 credits).

3.   Application Period: 

1st Round: April 22, 2024 (Mon) 10:00 AM - April 26, 2024 (Fri) 11:00 PM.

2nd Round: July 15, 2024 (Mon) 10:00 AM - July 19, 2024 (Fri) 11:00 PM.

     - There is no difference or disadvantage between the 1st and 2nd application periods. All applications will be reviewed all together at the end of July 2024.

     - Applications submitted during the 1st round can be modified during the 2nd round.

4.   Application Procedure: 

   -   For students enrolled from 2001 onwards:

   -   For students enrolled before 2000:  

     - Contact the administrative office of your college or the Academic Call Center (1811-8585).

5. Selection Restrictions

A. Pre-evaluation Departments: College of Arts departments (Fine Arts, Design, Dance, Film Studies, Acting Arts, Fashion), College of Engineering/Architecture, College of Software Convergence Global Convergence Division Self-Designed Convergence Major, Data Science Convergence Major, Artificial Intelligence Convergence Major, College of Information and Communication Next-Generation Semiconductor Engineering Interdisciplinary Major

※Students who pass the pre-evaluation must still apply for the double major through GLS during the application period. Failure to apply will result in disqualification.

B. Departments Not Accepting Applications:

- Global Leaders, Global Economics, Global Business, Semiconductor Systems Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine (Pre-Med), Global Biomedical Engineering, Law, Computer Science, Materials Components Convergence Engineering, Applied AI Convergence, Contract Departments

C. Education College Departments:

- Only students from the Education College can apply for a double major within its departments. Students in Applied AI Convergence can only apply for a double major within their own department.

D. Students in Global Economics cannot apply for a double major in Economics. Students in Global Business cannot apply for a double major in Business.

E. Students in Semiconductor Systems Engineering, Materials Components Convergence Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine, and Applied AI Convergence cannot apply for a double major in any other department.

F. The Convergence Software Joint Major no longer accepts new applications.

G. Eligible students can apply for a double major in Software (no restriction on admission year). Selection will follow the criteria outlined in [2. Selection Criteria].

H. Students majoring in Software from 2011 to 2016 can also apply for a double major.

I. Students currently majoring in Computer Engineering cannot apply for a double major in Software (★ those who are currently pursuing a double major in Computer Engineering must drop their course first, but note that selection is not guaranteed).

Result Announcement:

1. Selection Results Announcement: 

   - Expected on July 29 (Mon), 2024 at 17:00.

2. Details: 

- Results can be checked in the Information Plaza (GLS) under ‘My Application Status’ in the ‘Status’ section.
