Welcome to Sungkyunkwan University's (SKKU)
Glocal Culture Contents
Greetings!
The major in glocal culture contents is a representative convergent major in liberal arts. However, many students from other colleges, such as schools offering courses in social studies, art, and business, also choose double majors every semester.
The major in glocal culture contents has acted as a crucible of true humanities-based convergence talents under the banner of "living around the world and living with locals." To this end, we have always tried to keep pace with the changes in world culture and started to offer subjects that students need realistically. Therefore, subjects such as “Culture Contents and Epic“, “Webtoon Literature“, “SF and Fantasy“, “Modern, Glocal Culture Community“, “Hallyu”, “Games and Reality“, “Planning and Creation of Broadcasting Contents“, and “Humanities and Culture Management“ have always attracted the attention of many students.
As confirmed in the news every day, observers note that the global status of Korean culture, which is symbolized by the "Korean Wave," such as K-pop and K-dramas, is both expanding and presenting new problems. As a result, the demand for research and education on Korean culture continues to grow. This means that Korea and the world also need more talented people with the ability to create cultural contents, and also planners, cultural critics and researchers, and policy makers of the government and support organizations.
Students who want to become more valuable creators and recipients of cultural content, critics, or planners should not hesitate to pursue the glocal culture content-linked major that we are offering. You will be able to find the inspiration and ability to engage in culture while saving your nuclear power plant, and be at a place where you can demonstrate your talents and abilities.
The major in glocal culture contents will give you the opporunity to puruse various dynamic university studies and benefit from 15 years of accumulated know-how and sensitive expertise that our professors have gathered.
Thank you.
