“59th exploration of historical sites was held”
- Visiting Changdeokgung and establishing a venue for harmony
between professors and students for the first time in three years
Sungkyunkwan University's Korea Librarian Education Center (Director Shim Won-sik) held the 59th exploration of historical sites at Changdeokgung on October 29.
The Historic Site Exploration is an annual field trip conducted by the Korea Librarian Education Center, providing an opportunity to experience history while exploring historical sites, while enhancing a sense of belonging as a librarian education student and promoting friendship between students and professors. It has been temporarily suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19, but it has been held again in three years.
The event was attended by seven instructors, including director Shim Won-sik and professor Kim Young-sik, administrative office staff, and 40 students and a total of 48 participating.
Participants gathered at Donhwa Gate of Changdeokgung to take commemorative photos and watch Changdeokgung with cultural and tourism commentators. After the group viewing, each class had a meeting with professors to feel and communicate with the mood of autumn through individual viewing.
Park Joon-hee, president of the student council, said, "It was a valuable time for students and professors to share their concerns about their studies and explore their careers through a historical expedition." Director Shim Won-sik then wrapped up the event with a greeting, saying, "I would like to express my gratitude for the safe completion of the event with a large number of people participating in a long time, and let's all work together for the development of the Korea Librarian Education Center."
