Research Professor Lee Sang-ah(1st author) and Professor Lee Ki-beom Lee's research team at Rutgers New Jersey State University wrote a review paper on the latest bioengineering technology in organoid research.
Organoids, organ analogues that are differentiated from stem cells in three dimensions, are used for drug development, disease treatment, and artificial organ development. However, due to various technical limitations, it is difficult to make it identical to an actual organ, and many studies are being attempted worldwide to overcome this issue. This paper deals with various cutting-edge technologies for making organoids similar to organs in the human body and applying them to clinical treatment.
The research has been supported the Presidential Post Doc. Fellowship funded by National Research Foundation of Korea and was published in a world-renowned academic journal, Advanced Materials (IF 30.849) with an early view on September 24.
