Youngsung Kim

I graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a B.A. and an M.A. in philosophy and am currently a Ph.D. candidate. My main areas of interest are ethics and the theory of value. I am currently writing my dissertation on the subjects of 'love' and 'intimate human relationships.' My hobbies include watching YouTube, Netflix, and Disney Plus.

Hyungmin Kim received his B.A. in Philosophy from University of Washington – Seattle campus in 2020. He is mainly interested in Metaphysics, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science, Neuroethics, and Ethical AI.

Juseong Lee

I have developed a deep interest in ancient Hellenic philosophy,
particularly in the trajectory of metaphysics that unfolds from it, and have entered
the Graduate school of philosophy at Sungkyunkwan university in order to pursue
these studies more profoundly. Building on the essential mode of thought found in
ancient philosophy, I hope to engage in study of metaphysical problems.

Hyeongseok Na

I am a PhD student in SKKU's philosophy department. My main interests are currently in philosophy of mind, cognitive science, ethics, metaphysics, and philosophy of language. For example, I'm interested in topics like consciousness, whether AI can be conscious, and the moral status of AI. Before starting my PhD program, I received my M.A. in Philosophy from SKKU in 2024. My M.A. thesis was titled A Critique of Benatar's Pessimism on the Meaning of Life. Before coming to SKKU, I did my undergraduate degree in History and Philosophy at the Gyeongsang National University. In my free time I enjoy visiting museums.

Hyunjun Park

I entered the PhD program at Sungkyunkwan University because I am interested in modern philosophy and contemporary French philosophy. For my master’s thesis, I studied Descartes’ metaphysics. In my free time, I enjoy trying good food and traveling.

Min Cheol Seo

Min Cheol Seo

I studied philosophy and mathematics as an undergraduate and earned a master’s in Logic, focusing on constructive knowledge and the logic of justification. My current work continues in formal epistemology, with a keen interest in issues in logic and the philosophy of mathematics. Outside academia, I enjoy jazz music and play jazz guitar.

Hwijong Yun

Hwijong Yun

I specialize in German Classical Philosophy, with a particular focus on Kant and Hegel. I am currently conducting a comparative study of Kant’s synthetic unity of apperception and Hegel’s Concept of the Concept. I am also interested in Philosophical Theology and Existential Philosophy, particularly Kierkegaard. In my free time, I enjoy watching Go (the board game).

I enrolled in the spring semester of 2025. Before that, I majored in electrical and electronic engineering of bachelor's degree. I enrolled the school because I became interested in Martin Heidegger's existentialisme philosophy and Hans-Georg Gadamer 's hermeneutics. My hobbies are calligraphy, taking a walk, and listening to music.

Haeun Jang

I majored in philosophy and minored in Korean literature during my undergraduate years. Intrigued by the study of the differences between AI and humans, I pursued a master's degree, and it's still my dream to continue studying in this field. My hobbies include watching soccer games and exercising. I enjoy socializing with people, and I'm genuinely passionate about social drinking and dancing!

Mungwan Jeong 

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Department of Philosophy at Chungnam National University. My primary area of interest is analytic metaphysics, and within that field I am particularly interested in the problems of material constitution and persistence concerning concrete objects. My hobbies are playing the violin and attending concerts. I like the music of Bach and Brahms.

I am Jinyoun Kang, currently enrolled in the master’s program at Sungkyunkwan University, after writing an undergraduate thesis related to philosophy of language at Chung-Ang University. I am mainly interested in the fields of philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, and epistemology.

Geon Woo Kim

Geon Woo Kim

I graduated from Inha University, with majors in “Political Science and International Relations” and “Philosophy”. I am interested in many different subjects, but the subject I want to study the most is analytic philosophy. I am interested in logic and metaphysics, especially the meaning of truth and falsehood. My favorite philosophers are Bertrand Russell and David Hume. I like to play video games or board games with my friends. When I am alone, I like to create things.

Minhyuk Kim

Minhyuk Kim

I graduated summa cum laude with a BA in History, with a minor in Philosophy, from Hanyang University. In 2021, I was admitted to a master’s program at Korea University; however, due to some personal reasons, I had to temporarily halt my studies, but I am now able to resume my academic journey at Sungkyunkwan University. While I am interested in nearly every branch and issue of philosophy, my current focus is on philosophical logic—specifically, logical pluralism and the concept of impossible worlds—as well as on issues in the philosophy of religion. In my free time, I enjoy drawing and learning about and discussing topics such as chess, history, and more with my companions.

I majored in Psychology and minored in Cognitive science at Yonsei University. After graduation, I prepared for a civil service exam and worked at a company before deciding to pursue a master’s degree in Philosophy, a long-standing interest of mine. I am particularly interested in the ontological interpretation of quantum mechanics, phenomenology, existentialism, and semiotics. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, and engaging in discussions with people who share similar interests.

Hwiwon Daniel Lee

I majored in Philosophy and Media and Communication at Sungkyunkwan University, and obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with Summa Cum Laude. I'm interested in various areas of philosophy, and I would like to try to see various philosophical discussions and perspectives from an even point of view. My current research interests are in value ethics and conceptual analytic philosophy of art, but I'm also very interested in topics in epistemology and metaphysics that relate to these. I like cultural hobbies such as reading and watching movies, and I always want to travel whenever I get a chance.

I received my BA in Chung-Ang University without a thesis as I won the third prize in a school contest. Now I am interested in the political philosophy of Niccolò Machiavelli, skepticism through ignorance, military science (security studies), Lewisian possibilism, and so far. I like to write something (whether it is a novel or not), watch an e-sports or a baseball game on site, arrange songs, and sing any rock/metal.

Injin Woo

I received a B.A. in Philosophy and Korean Literature in Classical Chinese. I’m most interested in ontology and meta-ontology, especially ontological nominalism and ontological deflationism, as well as in inferentialism on meaning. I’m also interested in Skepticism and Buddhism. Outside philosophy, I enjoy reading and memorizing 18th-century Korean literature and Song dynasty literature. Also love to listen to 80s jazz music, heavy metal, and Korean traditional music. I play Guitar/Piri(a Korean traditional instrument) if there is time left.
