Sungkyunkwan University's Graduate School of Law advisory Professor - Career meeting between students 'CC Day' completed

The Graduate School of Law (Dean Kim Il-hwan) and the Graduate School Student Association "SKKUARE" successfully held the 1st CC Day, a career meeting event between advisors and students, at 18:00 on September 1, 2022 at the 600th anniversary of Eunhaenggol Student's Restaurant. CC Day, which was held for the first time this year, was designed to share the career and academic concerns of law school students with professors, and with the support of BHC Group Chairman Park Hyun-jong and professors at our school's law school. On the day of the event, 23 professors and 241 law students, including Kim Il-hwan, dean of the law school of our school, attended to share their concerns about future careers as well as their greetings. Dean Kim Il-hwan expressed his disappointment that the venue for communication between members of the law school has decreased over the past few years, and Lee Ah-yeon, student president of the law school, said that it was not easy to plan and host a large event for the first time since COVID-19, but it was very rewarding to see Wonwoo and professors satisfied.

Law School, Tokyo University's Honorary Professor Oomura holds an intensive special lecture

The Graduate School of Law (Dean Kim Il-hwan) and the East Asian Institute of Law and Politics (Director Kwon Chul) will invite Atsushi Oomura, honorary professor of Tokyo University (Professor of Law School, Kakushuin University) to give lectures on Japanese studies. The theme of the intensive special lecture is "Heisei Japan as seen by precedent," which carefully selects four rulings of the Japanese Supreme Court and reviews them in comparative law. This intensive lecture was planned as part of the "Japanese Law Lecture" program opened at our university's law school. Despite the heavy rain on the evening of the 5th due to the approach of Typhoon Hinamno, many students attended and took the lecture, including law school students, master's and doctorate students, undergraduates scheduled to be dispatched abroad, and students participating in the CAMPUS Asia project. The intensive special lecture will begin on September 5th (Monday) and will be held every evening until September 8th (Thursday) at the high-tech e+ lecture room of the Law School 20206. A ceremony to deliver the Chugang Scholarship from the Graduate School of Law in 2nd Semester, 2022

On September 29, 2022, at 11 p.m. at the Law School 201 (Kim Young-soo Memorial Hall), a ceremony was held to deliver the Chugang Scholarship for the second semester of the 2022 school year, and scholarships were delivered to excellent law school master's programs (hereinafter referred to as law schools). Chairman Chugang Park Sang-jo (66, Chairman of Gowon C&T and Chairman of the Chugang Scholarship Association) attended the event, and Kim Il-hwan, dean of the Graduate School of Law, the head of the student department Jeong Sang-hyun, and Professor Jeon Hu-jae attended. The Chugang Scholarship is paid for chemical engineering and law school students at our school based on the Chugang Park Sang-jo scholarship of about 1 billion won, which was starred by Chairman Chugang Park Sang-jo. Since 2010, law school students have been given scholarships of 5 million won per semester and 20 million won per year (10 million won per student), and from the first semester of this year, they have expanded the number of beneficiaries by one to provide 15 million won in scholarships to a total of three students. The scholarship students who were honored with the Chugang Scholarship were Kim Jang-hwan (12th), Lee Ah-yeon (13th), and Lim So-young (13th). Chairman Chugang Park Sang-jo encouraged the students who received the scholarship, saying, "I hope you will wisely move forward with whatever you have rather than focusing on what you lack compared to others," and Kim Il-hwan urged them to become not only talented lawyers but also warm lawyers who know how to appreciate them. The students who received the scholarship reflected on the chairman's words and thanked him for his hard work.
