Professor Lee Yang-hee has become the first Korean to act as a UN special rapporteur. “Korea shows are very popular in the Myanmar muslim camp. Korea is a role model for both Myanmar government and Myanmarese.” she said. 

Recently, a buddhist monk made insulting remark and inflammatory comments about Prof. Lee, thinking that she was interfering in Myanmar's internal affairs.

“Despite the threats, I feel safe knowing that the Myanmar government is watching over me” Prof. Lee remarked about the incident.
