Achieving the Top Employment Rate for 9 Consecutive Years as a Comprehensive University
- Results from close-knit career support programs, including mentoring by alumni and specialized job training programs
Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), led by President Yoo Ji-beom, achieved an employment rate of 73.8% in the 2024 information disclosure, marking the 9th consecutive year of ranking first in employment rates. It also ranked first in the retention employment rate, with 88.7%.
On the 10th, SKKU announced that it had secured the top spot in the employment rate for comprehensive universities with more than 3,000 graduates, according to the "2023 Higher Education Institutions Graduate Employment Statistics Survey (2024 Information Disclosure)" publicly released through the University Information Portal.
The main factors for SKKU’s success in maintaining its top employment rate for nine consecutive years include customized, close-knit career programs for students, large-scale job fairs, mentoring and special lectures with alumni, and specialized programs operated through the University Job Plus Center.
Every semester, SKKU invites around 70 companies, providing students with opportunities to directly interact with leading domestic and international companies. In 2024, the number of job fairs and campuses was expanded, with over 4,500 students participating, marking a significant achievement.
Additionally, SKKU operates a University Job Plus Center program supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, hiring career and employment consultants to provide personalized counseling to students. This results in a structured and differentiated career support service.
Lee Jun-sang, the Director of the Student Career Development Center at SKKU, stated, "We will strengthen support to help underclassmen explore their careers early and actively prepare for employment. We plan to expand our alumni network and activate job-focused mentoring and special lecture programs led by industry professionals, so that students can receive practical help."
