[Department of SW Convergence] Recruiting Students to Participate in the 2022 Winter Global Challenge Program (~10.18)

Let us participate in the Global Challenge Program and grow into a global leader!
1. Program Introduction
Students from the Department of SW Convergence form a team to visit Global IT Corporates and Schools to provide relevant practices and opportunities for global competency development.
2. Program Details
1) Recruiting Targets: Students enrolled in the Department of Software or Global Convergence (Artificial Intelligence, Data Science Convergence Major) (Standard for 22-2 Semester)
- Students who are on leave of absence or certified cannot apply.
- Support only available on a team basis (minimum of 2 people and maximum of 5 people on a team), no support available for individual.
- All team members should have a mean GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Participants from last year's Software Department's US training and 22 Summer Global Challenge cannot apply.
2) Program Participation Period: From December 9th, 2022 (Fri) to December 25th, 2022 (Sun)
(The program participation period is 7 to 10 days maximum)
3) Location for Program Participation
- No restriction on countries to visit (though, excluding countries that are difficult to visit due to COVID-19)
- Cities to Visit: Places to visit may be several, it is not restricted to one place.
- Organizations and places to visit are recruited by applicants themselves, and then plan the program.
4) Number of Selections: Maximum of 20 people from the Software Department and Maximum of 10 people from the Global Convergence Department
5) Support Funds: KRW 3 million per person (including airfare and visa fee)
6) Recruitment Period : 22.10.04 (Tues) ~ 10.18 (Tues) / Strict Deadline 必
7) Documents to Submit
★ Submit one PDF File for each item: A Professor's Recommendation Letter, a Certificate of Enrollment, and Consent Form of Personal Information.
① Global Challenge Plan (no strict format but contain items described below)
- Purpose of participating the Global Challenge
- The name of the team, list of members (including department, academic year, name, and contact), and participation schedule and plan
* Make sure to select and write team representative.
- Contact points for visiting companies and universities.
- Details for previous Software Convergence Department program participation and school activities.
- Expectations for the program and plans after participation of the program.
- Information on the availability of the visits to the respective countries during the planning period and COVID-19 requirements and restrictions.
(** Visiting Experts from Summer Global Challenge in Attachment 3 file will be excluded from 'Contact Point')
However, for institutions and agencies, redundancy is possible.
② Professor's Recommendation Letter (only for professors at Software Convergence Department / use 'Attachment 1' form)
* One copy per team.
* Make sure to contact the professor of recommendation first and receive it directly.
Note that the office will contact the professor who filled out the submitted professor's recommendation letter in the future.
③ One copy of each Certificate of Enrollment and Transcript (required for each and every team member)
④ One copy of Consent Form of Personal Information (each team member must prepare it / use 'Attachment 2' form)
⑤ Official linguistic report (only for people who are required to)

9) Criteria for Review (100 points in total)
(40 points for planning documents, 20 points for grade, 20 points for contribution to the Software Convergence Department, 10 points for Professor's Recommendation Letter, and 10 points from the selection committees)
3. Future Schedule (Expected)
1) Document Review: 22.10.19 (Wed) ~ 10.27 (Thu) / Interview maybe conducted if there are many applicants
2) Final announcement: 22.10.28 (Fri)
4. Notice when Participating in Overseas Programs
① The availability and requirements for visiting the respected country during the planning period.
(Requirements for entry and exit, visa, vaccination status, on-site quarantine, quarantine after returning to Korea, etc.) These contents should be included in the plan above.
② Everything about the country (visa, vaccination, etc.) should be prepared by the team.
③ If quarantine is required after arrival abroad, the cost of staying during the quarantine period is due by the individuals.
