[HAI LAB(지도교수 송하연)] 김지은 석사 졸업생, CHI 학회에서 Honorable mention을 수상하다

HAI Lab 소속(지도교수 송하연)이었던 우리 학과의 석사 졸업생인 김지은 졸업생(현재 코넬대 박사과정 진행중)의 논문이 CHI 학회에서 Honorable mention을 수상했습니다. ▲ 김지은 석사 졸업생 해당 논문의 Abstract 및 주소는 아래와 같습니다. [Abstract] Sticking to daily plans is essential for achieving life goals but challenging in reality. This study presents a self-voice alarm as a novel daily goal reminder. Based on the strong literature on the psychological effects of self-voice, we developed a voice alarm system that reminds users of daily tasks to support their consistent task completion. Over the course of 14 days, participants (N = 63) were asked to complete daily vocabulary tasks when reminded by an alarm (i.e., self-voice vs. other-voice vs. beep sound alarm). The self-voice alarm elicited higher alertness and uncomfortable feelings while fostering more days of task completion and repetition compared to the beep sound alarm. Both self-voice and other-voice alarms increased users’ perceived usefulness of the alarm system. Leveraging both quantitative and qualitative approaches, we provide a practical guideline for designing voice alarm systems that will foster users’ behavioral changes to achieve daily goals. 링크 : My Voice as a Daily Reminder: Self-Voice Alarm for Daily Goal Achievement

송하연 교수, NCA 2023 Distinguished Article Award 수상

미국 커뮤니케이션학에서 대표적인 학회인 National Communication Association에서 주최하는 연례학회의 교육개발부(Instructional Development Division)에서 우리 학과 송하연 교수가 2023년 저명논문상 (2023 Distinguished Article Award)을 수상하였다. 이 학회는 올해로 109회를 맞은 역사가 깊은 학회이며 올해는 미국 메릴랜드에서 열렸다. 매년 가장 훌륭한 논문 1개를 선정하는데 올해 송하연 교수가 제1저자로서 김지현 교수 (University of Central Florida), Wen Luo 교수 (Texas A&M)와 공저한 "Teacher-Student Relationship in Online Classes: A Role of Teacher Self-Disclosure," 논문이 수상하게 되었다. 본 논문은 Computers in Human Behavior에 실렸다.

인간AI인터랙션융합전공 홍주화 교수, 그것이 알고 싶다 출연(나의 완벽한 애인- AI와 사랑해도 될까요?)

성균관대학교 인간AI인터랙션융합전공 홍주화 교수는 지난 4월 12일 방송된 SBS 그것이 알고싶다(나의 완벽한 애인- AI와 사랑해도 될까요?)에 출연하였다. 본 방송에서 AI의 발달에 따라 최근 감정적으로 의존하는 것을 넘어 사랑에 빠진 경우 등의 여러 사례를 다루었다. 홍주화 교수는 “인공지능은 방대한 데이터를 학습해 적절한 값을 도출하는 방식으로 작동하기 때문에, 이를 개발한 사람조차 알고리즘의 작동 원리를 정확히 이해하기 어렵다”며, “그럼에도 불구하고 현재는 AI 개발 경쟁이 과열되면서 부작용에 대한 논의보다는 기술 발전에 집중하는 경향이 있다”고 지적했다.

인간AI인터랙션융합전공 박은일 교수, EBS 다큐멘터리K 출연

인간AI인터랙션융합전공 박은일 교수는 지난 5월 17일 방송된 EBS 다큐멘터리 K - 대학혁신 '1부. 왜 대학은 달라져야 하는가' 편에 출연하였다. 본 방송에서는 급변하는 사회에 발맞추어 과감하게 혁신을 단행한 8개의 대학들을 살펴보며 혁신이 필요한 이유와 대학이 나아가야 할 길에 대해 살펴보았다. 국내에서 대학혁신을 시도한 여러 대학들의 사례들을 살펴보며, 성균관대학교 '문제중심학습(PBL, Problem Based Learning)' 수업으로 산업 맞춤형 인재를 양성하는 박은일 교수의 이야기를 다뤘다.
