Smoking Cessation Counseling

Smoking Cessation Counseling, targets smokers among the SKKU students and the teaching staff.
The counselor from the local health center will visit SKKU health care centers, and will be available to have one-to-one counseling sessions for about 3-6 weeks.
After intensive counseling, we will conduct more thorough ways to counsel and support the individuals to reduce cigarette consumption within six months and to quit smoking after six months.

Cigarette is a warehouse of 4,000 chemicals and contains about 40 carcinogens.

Three harmful substances in tobacco

  • Nicotine - addictive, high blood pressure
  • Carbon monoxide - induced hypoxia
  • Tar - the source of toxic substances

  • Start recruiting participants after notice in school and start counseling.
  • Operate a smoking cessation counseling once per semester in both HSS and NS Campus.
  • Professional counselor from local health center visit SKKU health care center and have counseling.

Whenever I think of cigarettes, try this.

  • Take a deep breath.
  • Drink water slowly.
  • Chew gum.
  • Endure for 5 minutes.
  • Exercise / hobbies, cold light friction.
  • Walk or Brush your teeth immediately after eating.
  • Avoid the causes of the need to smoke, situations such as; alcohol, coffee, overeating, avoid foods that irritating.
  • Sleep well.
  • Consider family's health and happiness.
