2026학년도 여름 정치외교학과 학위수여식 개최

2026년 8월 25일, 정치외교학과와 국가전략대학원의 여름 학위수여식이 수선관 61907호에서 개최되었습니다. 조원빈, 김인욱, 조성민, 이종혁 교수님을 비롯해, 졸업생의 가족과 지인들이 함께 자리하여 졸업생들의 새로운 출발을 따뜻하게 격려하고 응원했습니다. 모두의 축하와 감동 속에 치러진 이번 자리가 졸업생들의 앞날에 든든한 밑거름이 되기를 바라며, 앞으로 펼쳐질 무궁한 발전과 찬란한 미래를 진심으로 응원합니다.

2026년 8월 18일, 정치외교학과 일반대학원 신입생을 위한 'Pre-school' 행사가 개최되었습니다 이번 행사에는 김인욱 교수와 조원빈 교수를 비롯해 신입생 및 재학생 등 총 17명이 참석했습니다. 이번 행사는 단순한 친목 도모를 넘어 학제 등 실질적인 대학원 생활 적응에 초점을 맞춰 진행되었고, 대학원생 인권교육이 함께 실시돼 동료 연구원 및 지도교수와의 바람직한 관계 설정 등 원내 생활에 필요한 가이드라인이 공유되었습니다. 아울러 대학로 인근 식당과 카페 등지에서 진행된 네트워킹을 통해 향후 연구 방향과 진로 설계를 주제로 신입생과 재학생, 교수님의 논의가 오가는 시간이 되었습니다.

While prior research shows intergroup bias in sentencing decisions in Western democracies, the mechanisms remain underexplored, especially in low diversity, non-Western contexts. We theorize two pathways: a punitive mechanism, driven by perceived threat from out-group offenders, and a sympathetic mechanism, driven by in-group favoritism. Using a pre-registered survey experiment with 4,000 Japanese respondents acting as jurors in a criminal vignette, we find little evidence of ethnic bias overall. However, sentences become harsher when the perpetrator is Chinese and the victim is Japanese. Further analysis shows that perceived immigrant threat—but not nationalism—moderates this effect, suggesting that judicial bias is driven more by punitive than sympathetic mechanisms.
