Welcome to Sungkyunkwan University's (SKKU)

The Social Innovation Convergence Program

기관장

<Multiple gaps and social instability> are the most important social problems to be solved by Korean society in the 21st century. Various gaps are being created and deepened, such as the consumption gap, the health gap, and the information and digital gap beyond the wage gap and income inequality.

With the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, new discrimination, exclusion, and injustice are being created. Social problems that are difficult to solve have emerged, such as job encroachment by machines and bias of artificial intelligence algorithms.

<The Social Innovation Convergence Program> started with a vision to solve the multiple gaps with a data-based social innovation approach. To foster new talents that fit the vision, the department plans to provide educational services that enable students to develop the ability to analyze and present solutions on an objective basis. Therefore, the goal of the department is for our students to become new talents who lead social change.

The Social Innovation Convergence Program provides personalized roadmap that considers students' research interests and career paths. It aims for an open educational model in which professors and students communicate and cooperate horizontally with each other.

The Social Innovation Convergence Program is Korea's only new concept convergence education program led by social scientists and participating in AI and big data scientists. Social sciences majors and computer science and software majors participate in master's and doctoral programs.

The Social Innovation Convergence Program will be the best department to cultivate social problem-solving talents suitable for the 4IR age while making good use of Sungkyunkwan University's capacity to lead convergence and innovation. I look forward to your support and cooperation.
