Brianna Alexandra Guapo (New Mexico State University, USA)

Before SKKU ISS, I had never traveled alone and was terrified of entering unknown territory. But the moment I stepped foot on Sungkyunkwan University's campus, Korea felt like home. I met people from across the world, building friendships and gaining mentors from different time zones. I loved the classroom culture that pushed me to see more of my potential. I learned to navigate Seoul and even traveled to Gangneung, Busan, and Pohang - discovering beauty and culture everywhere I went. I did my best to communicate using the basic Korean I learned, whether at a market, restuarant, or with a stranger.
Thanks to SKKU ISS, I've learned how capable and independent I truly am. It opened my eyes to how wide the world really is, and reignited my spark to explore all of it.

Nadine BINGÖL (Friedrich–Alexander University, Germany)

My time at SKKU's ISS program was truly unforgettable. I took inspiring courses like Introduction to AI and Enhancing Productivity using AI Tools, which gave me both fresh perspectives and real-world skills. But beyond the classroom, it was the people and experiences that made this summer so special. One of the absolute highlights was the newly introduced extracurricular trip to Jeju Island where we went hiking, had lots of laughs, and bonded with students from all over the world in one of Korea'ss most stunning landscapes.
It was also a true honor to be selected as the student representative to deliver the graduation speech, a moment I'll never forget, standing in front of such a vibrant, international community that had become like home. Thank you, SKKU, for a summer full of learning, connection, and unforgettable memories.

Tyler CHAN (Tennessee Technological University, USA)

I greatly enjoyed my time at SKKU. From meeting amazing people from all over the world to taking classes that enhanced my experience of Korean culture, this was a once in a lifetime experience for me. I think the most memorable experience for me was spending time with other classmates I met, whether we were going out to eat, hiking, dancing, or just exploring. Thank you SKKU for this unforgettable summer!

Kaitlin WINN (University of North Carolina, USA)

My experience in the ISS program at SKKU was incredible, from the classroom to the cultural field trips. One of the aspects of the program I valued the most was the effort SKKU put in to have a diverse group of students. Not only did I have the opportunity to learn about Korean culture, but also about numerous other cultures from around the world. The international friendships I made while in the ISS program I will treasure forever.

Bobby A. WEN (Australian National University, Australia)

I believe that my time in South Korea wouldn't have been half as good if I hadn't studied at SKKU. Koreans and International students gathered after class and shared great laughs and cultural barriers melted away. It was surreal how students from opposite sides of the world could talk and argue about the same things. Needless to say, this was just the tip of the mountain of amazing experiences in South Korea and SKKU.

Marah SUBAHI (University of Manchester, UK)

As a participant of the SKKU ISS 2016 program, I can confidently say that this was an opportunity of a lifetime. Not only did I meet and make friends with people from all over the world, I was given the opportunity to challenge myself and learn so much in such a short period of time. I could not recommend ISS enough.

Snigdha SEETHAMSETTY (National University of Singapore, Singapore)

A Greek professor and students from 6 different countries: this is a true reflection of how international SKKU ISS was. Through the lessons and activities, I met and forged strong friendship with people from all around the world. I cultivated a world perspective and now recognize myself as a global citizen. Also, I now have a place to call home and free tour guides in every continent!!! I would strongly recommend this program to anyone who is looking for global exposure.
