Advancements in Chemical Enrichment and Matrix Development for Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Biomolecules

This presentation focuses on the chemical enrichment of specific post-translational modifications (PTMs) to unravel the intricacies of cellular signaling and structure with mass spectrometric techniques. Our chemical enrichment extends to the nitroproteome, phosphoproteome, and phosphatidylinositol, uncovering cellular function.

The first segment addresses the targeted enrichment of nitroproteins, providing insights into the often-overlooked nitroproteome and its implications in cellular redox signaling. The investigation extends further to phosphatidylinositol, shedding light on lipid signaling and its role in cellular processes.

The second part of the presentation focuses on matrix development tailored for the analysis of metabolites and phospholipids through Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry. We explore innovative matrix compositions that enhance sensitivity and specificity, ensuring a comprehensive analysis of complex cellular mixtures.

This interdisciplinary approach advances our understanding of the pivotal role of chemical enrichment and matrix development in expanding the capabilities of mass spectrometry for biomolecular analysis.
