First part of the course will be a survey of the progress from modern to present times and its characteristics. Then the structural characters of modern Western history-the Second Industrial Revolution, appearance of organized capitalism, leap of advanced capitalist countries toward imperialism, changing characteristics of labor movement, and rise of fascism will be investigated. On the top of such basics, the Russian Revolution, the progress and outcome of the two World Wars, and post-war Cold Era will be studied.
