Social service marketing is the systematic application of markerting along with other concepts and techniques to achieve specific behavioral goals for a social service. Social service marketing can be applied to promote, for example, merit goods, make the society avoid demerit goods and thus to promote that considers society's well being as whole. The primary aim of social service marketing is social good, while in commercial marketing the aim is primarily financial. This does not mean that commercial marketers can not contribute to achievement of social good. Social service marketing is being described as having two parents a social parent social policy, and a marketing parent commercial marketing approaches. Students can learn the technique of social service marketing and experience various practical process of social service marketing through this subject.

This course explores elements of group work practice in clinical and educational settings and includes experiential activities to build the group worker's skill/competence in leading groups. Students will participate in a brief, personal growth small-group to grasp important aspects related to becoming skilled grup leaders. These aspects include: planning and preparing to lead the group; understanding leaders roles and responsibilities; facilitating group dynamics to promote positive changes in participants; co-leading; designing group work curricula; and considering the ethical issues inherent in therapeutic group work.

This course is an in-depth study of one o fthe practice theories that is widely used in social welfare practice. Specifically, we focus on one theory during the semester to acquire sufficient theoretical basis, and based on this theoretical foundation, we identify and evaluate specific programs developed to intervene in psychological and social problems and individual cases experienced by real clients,and practicepractical intervention techniques. Through this course,student swill cultivate the basic skills of applying the theory to the entire course of social welfare practice, namely, assessment, intervention and evaluation, along with the acquisition of in-depthunderstanding of the theory, as well as the cultivation of the ability to understand how individual theor ies meet the values, philosophies and ethical standards of social welfare and to critically examine how they can be used with clients from various backgrounds.

Social economy generically refers to economic organizations and their activities that are not aimed at profit-seeking. The goal of this course is to give students a comprehensive understanding of social economy. To this end, this course deals with the following topics. Part 1 looks at the meaning and necessity of the social economy, as well as its history in order to materialize the concept of the social economy. Part 2 deals with theories related to social economy. Approaches of livelihood security systems, various discussions on welfare mix and welfare pluralism, the dilemma of collective action and its solutions, civic participation and social capital, and expansion of the concept of publicity. Through this part, students will have an opportunity to have an analytical and theoretical view of the social economy. Part 3 of this course deals with the reality of social economy from a comparative perspective through various social economy organizations such as cooperatives, social enterprises, village enterprises, and non-profit organizations.

Social workers work with clients to promote their change and growth, but the time they can spend with clients, the provision of professional intervention, and resources are supported and limited by policies, laws, institutions, delivery systems and agency regulations. This course aims to develop capabilities to analyze dynamic issues arising from professional intervention in practice by social workers based on specific issues at social welfare sites and actual intervention cases. Furthermore, in order to strengthen and exercise the capacity of social workers, we will seek alternative bases on philosophical, theoretical and institutional levels to identify specific points that need to be improved and improve them. Through this, students will critically review and redefine the role and identity of social welfare workers as professionals with the eyes of future generations.

Social workers often meet clients with various past and ongoing traumatic experiences. This course aims to understand trauma and learn how to intervene in social work. Specifically, we will first deal with philosophical and theoretical discussions on the concept of trauma and recovery, and try to reinterpret current discussions from the perspective fo social welfare. Next, to understand the effects of trauma, we will learn explanatory theories, symptoms, and evaluation methods. Finally, students will acquire the basic principles of intervention and a few representative approaches through various educational methods.

Social phenomena and events which we encounter everyday are closely related with social science concepts and theories from public administration, public policy and other disciplines. Theories, frameworks, models and concepts from public administration and other social science disciplines provide lens and perspectives in understanding, explaining social problems and developing solutions for them. The students should embody and apply new perspectives and insight in understanding and in suggesting solutions for public problems occurring in the contemporary. For this goal, this class focuses on providing cases of social problems, government's policymaking, public services, and analyzing the causes and processes of, and designing solutions for the cases. We will ponder over 1) what are public problems or issues 2) why these problems should be dealt by governments or public governance, not by market or private sector 3) what policies or tools should be applied in solving problems . Drawing on case analyses of applying theories and concepts on public issues, this class aims to help students to understand the social phenomena in depth, and to develop public policies for addressing them.
