New polyketide substance derived from Beauberia basiana, an entomopathogenic fungi
Professor Kim Ki-hyun’s research team (the 1st author: Lee Seung-rak in Ph.D. program) decorated the cover of "Organic Chemistry Frontiers, IF 5.455 and JCR Ranking 8.8 percent," a world-renowned chemical journal published in 2019 January.
Professor Kim Ki-hyun's research team successfully investigated the structure by separating the new polyketide material, Beauveetraons A-C, which originated from Beauberia basiana, an entomopathogenic fungi. The research team implemented optimal incubation conditions through LC/MS analysis in the laboratory environment, and calculated chemical polarities from the computer system and successfully discovered absolute stereoscopic structural arrangement.
The findings provided an opportunity to expand research materials to entomopathogenic fungi, and it is thought to provide a significant advantage in the process of separating natural substances from new ones efficiently, applying LC/MS analysis and a library based on the unique ultraviolet rays of compounds.
