2020 Spring Guide to Course Registration for Graduate School
Please take note of the following information regarding course registration procedures and schedule for the graduate school in 2020 Spring semester. (2020-1)

※ SKKU has postponed its semester start from 2nd of March to 9th of March and the classes for the first two weeks of spring semester will be offered online so that any of offline classes will not be providing on campus until 22nd of March. Therefore, Course Add&Drop period has also been delayed.
※ The registration and deletion of courses are only available from 10:00 to 23:00 during the course registration period (2. 13 ~ 2. 21.)
※ Students can change of the course(add or delete) 24 hours during Course Add&Drop period. (except "Not Available" day)
2. Available Courses: Check through GLS System- Crouse Area(수업영역)- Electronic Timetable (전자시간표)
※ Courses will be further updated. Please check it regularly for any changes made to the time or the classroom number.
3. The Division of Thesis Writing and Research Ethics (Required Subjects)
All SKKU student must complete the ‘Thesis Writing and Research Ethic’ course. The following divisions are available according to the department and degree.
1) To whom
A. All enrolled students who have not taken ‘Writing of IT Technical Papers in English and Research Ethics’ course prior to the 2019 Fall semester.
B. Freshmen join after March 2020. (includes freshmen who enrolled on March 2020)
2) Please click the “prerequisite(선수신청)” to register for Thesis Writing and Research Ethics course.
3) This course does not included as available credit limit (9 credits/semester) and completion credits. (master 24 degree / Doctor 36 degree / combined 51 degree)
4) If the requirement is not fulfilled, you will no longer eligible for both completed coursework and degree.

4. Note
① Graduate students are not allowed to Retaking a Course, Grade Withdraw for the taken Courses.
Also, Withdraw courses is not allowed after the change period.
② For combined and Ph.D degree students, can register for additional 3 credits in any semester that you would like to take.

- Ph.D: Max. 2 Semester / Combined: Max. 1 Semester
③ The updated system will be given to prevent courses being traded.
5. Procedures to request for increase in the student capacity per course
[Before the semester begins]
① Waiting number given
② Write your reasons for taking the course at GLS-Book Bag(책가방-수강희망사유)
③ The professor check the reason and decide to augmentation of course limit
④ Automatically course register in the waiting list.
(students accepted in order of registration only if the number of students exceeds the last waiting number that registered the same course)
[After the semester begins]
① Write your reasons for taking the course at GLS-Book Bag(책가방-수강희망사유)
② The professor check the reason and decide to augmentation of course limit
③ Course registration works totally based on the order of registration
What is Waiting List Policy? ① Fixed ratio of total capacity is on stand-by ② If a student deletes a course or the lecturer decides to increase the capacity, the registration is confirmed in the order of waiting number. ③ If you do not have a waiting number, you cannot write the reasons behind taking the course that you want. ④ Note that once the semester begins, you can only write the reasons for the courses that are still in your Book Bag. ⑤ Once the semester begins, the waiting number is no longer valid. It will work in the order of registration. ⑥ The waiting number will be given only within the limit of the total number of credits available to take for the corresponding semester. |
6. Introduction of Registration of Research Courses
To reinforce the coursework, CICE does not allow Master’s students to take research courses. Also, Ph.d Students and combined Students are allowed to take research courses from 2nd semester.
For the students who would like to take, please confirm your qualification and answer the survey by following the procedure below.
① Courses: 석사연구1(ECE5237-41), 석사연구2(ECE5238-41)
박사연구1(ECE6001-41), 박사연구2(ECE6002-41), 박사연구3(ECE6003-41)
② Who can take the courses: Students in their second semester or above Ph.D students and combined Students (※ All master’s students and the first semester of Ph.D Students and combined Students are not allowed to take.)
③ How to register?

④ Period: 2020. 2. 13 ~ 2. 21 (until 11:00 pm)
2020. 3. 9 ~ 3. 27 (until 13:00 pm) (except "Not Available" day)
⑤ After confirmed to be qualified, the course will be assigned automatically on the scheduled date.
※ Courses will be assigned on February 27, March 16 and March 27.
⑥ The Research Course is only allowed to be taken once per semester. Combined students can take maximum 12 credits. Ph.D students can take up to 9 credits.
⑦ If you would like to take the Research Course, please leave 3 credits for the course to be assigned. For example, if you can register 9 credits in total for this semester, register up to 6 credits except the Research Course.
