PHR5091 Topics in Infection and immunity 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
This course provides a detailed insight into the interaction between a microbial pathogen and its human host. The interaction between pathogens and the immune defense mechanism is highlighted. Consideration is also given to the use of vaccines and chemotherapy to avoide liminate infection. The course is taught by a combination of lectures and seminars.
PHR5095 Microbiology Seminar 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
This seminar will discuss on physiology, structure, and regulation mechanism of bacterial and viralgenes. This seminar's main subjects are operon structure and its expression in bacteria.
PHR5097 Special Topics in Medical Microbiology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
This lecture presents action mechanisms of microbial pathogens, immunogenicity against pathogenic micro organisms, evasiveness of immune system by pathogens, and measurement of pathogenicity at cellular and molecular level.
PHR5099 Topicsin Molecular Microbiology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy English Yes
Lectures on recent progress on gene regulation in micro organisms
PHR5102 CellularImmunology 1 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
This subject gives a lecture on cells in immuneresponse, the interaction between the cells, and the role of molecules secreted by cells. This lecture also covers immunological techniques for the isolation of cells, the assessment of proliferation and cytokines.
PHR5103 CellularImmunology 2 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
This lecture covers advanced knowledges of the roles of T and B cells, the defence reactions, the roles of a variety of cytokines, the importance of cellular adhesion molecules and major histocompatibility complex antigen during development of the immuneresponse.
PHR5104 Cellular Microbiology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
Cellular Microbiology deals the intersection of microbial and host-cell biology. The focus is the host cell responses elicited by the interaction with micro organisms. Equal emphasis is placed on responses to prokaryotic, viral and eukaryotic micro organisms. -Exploitation of host cell structure -Modification of cell signalling pathways -Molecular responses of the host cell -Responses of tissues and whole organs -Systemic effects elicited by micro-organisms -Induction of immuneresponse -Modulation and exploitation of immuneresponse -Remodelling of tissues -Co-pathogen interactions
PHR5108 Methods in Toxicity Testing 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
Principles and methodology of toxicity testing will be studied. Acute, subchronic, chronic, mutagenicity, teratogenicity, carcinogenicity, immunotoxicity and skintoxicity tests will be covered.
PHR5113 Industrial Toxicology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
Industrial toxicology covers the toxicological aspects of industrial chemicals used for raw materials or gene rated during the manufacturing process. Occupational diseases associated with industrial toxicants will also be covered in part.
PHR5114 Ecotoxicology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
This course covers the biosphere, air, land and aquatic environments; contaminant sources and effects; environmental risk assessment analysis and management.
PHR5116 Human Oncology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy Korean Yes
Humanoncology deals with the classification of human carcinogenesis history, mechanisms of action and epidemiology.
PHR5117 Multi-hightech Toxicology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy English Yes
Multi-hightech Toxicology is the field of study to fuse mathematics, physics, chemistry, nano, BT, IT into toxicology to evaluate toxicity and to extend human life. Especially, application of IT by developing software will be useful to predict toxicity and to diagnose human diseases.
PHR5120 Chemical Carcinogenesis 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy English Yes
This course covers the mechanisms, processes and characteristics of chemical carcino genesis. Chemicals proven to be carcino genic in animals and humans will be studied.
PHR5121 Molecular Pathophysiology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
In this course, students learn the pathophysiological findings of various diseases for understanding of their etiology and pathogenesis on macroscopical, histological, cellular and molecular levels. Moreover, this course prepares to be able to develop or improve pathophysiological laboratory theories and methods for the diagnosis, therapy and assessing prognosis in various inflammatory diseases including sepsis and hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury. In particular, this course focuses on the various immune receptors such as toll-like receptors (TLRs) and receptor for advanced glycation endproducts (RAGEs), types of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) recognizing molecules that are broadly shared by pathogens but distinguishable from host molecules.
PHR5123 Advanced Pathophysiology 1 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy - No
The relationships between morphologic changes, functional alternations and clinical manifestations of disease are stressed. The course deals with topics of current interest in clinical sciences.
