PHR5290 Cryo-Electron Microscopy 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Pharmacy Korean Yes
This course aims to advance students capability in the pharmacological research by introducing the principles and experimental methodologies in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), a cutting edge imaging technology for studying the molecular structures of biological macromolecules and cellular compartments. The course will review the latest technological breakthroughs and the examples of cryo-EM analyses of drug target proteins.
PHR5291 Drug metabolism 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Pharmacy Korean Yes
A stumbling block in drug development is the prediction of toxicity and efficacy due to drug interactions of candidate substances, and the evaluation of the drug properties of candidate substances from the early stages of drug development is recognized as a key evaluation indicator for the success of drug development. Graduate students in the Department of Pharmacy are researchers who will be the backbone of new drug development, and they are required to learn the basic knowledge of drug metabolism for theory and application. This course consists of the basic theory of drug metabolism and the application of learning data utilized in the drug development process. Students will learn an introduction to drug metabolism, mechanisms, metabolic pathways, and enzymes, as well as in-depth theories on drug interactions, genetic polymorphisms, and metabolism involved in toxicity and side effects.
PHR5292 Advanced Toxicology 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Pharmacy Korean Yes
This course is designed to provide students with specialized knowledge on the types, causes, and mechanisms of toxic effects of toxicants on living organisms. The goal of this program is to enable master's and doctoral students in pharmacy to learn about toxicology and acquire expertise in toxicological evaluation required in the drug development process after graduation.
