PHR5271 Neurochemistry 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Pharmacy - No
A great deal of interest has been directed toward neurochemistry because the field not only became the major subject of advanced life sciences but also has been directly involved in the search of the mental phenomena. Neurochemistry is the study of chemicals, including neurotransmitters and other molecules such as psychohormons and neuropeptides, that control and influence the biology of the nervous system. This field within neuroscience examines how neurochemicals influence the operation of neurons, synapses, neural networks, and neuronal disorders. In neurochemistry class, we will analyze the biochemistry and molecular biology of organic compounds in the nervous system, and their roles in such neural processes including cortical plasticity, neurogenesis, neural differentiation, and neurodegeneration.
