- College of Confucian Studies and Eastern Philosophy host superior undergraduate awards ceremony 2015 in 16, september. Superior undergraduates are 16 students selected. They recieve a certificate and souvenir. Superior undergraduates are the students get a grade more than fixed standard.

- 2015 Fall Foreign Freshmen Orientation (Humanities & Social Sociences Campus
- On August 17, freshman graduate and undergrad students of both campuses gathered at the Business Building Theatre (33B301) of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus for the orientation presided by the Office of International Affairs (Vice President Lee Suke-kyu). From 10:30 a.m., this orientation was given in Korean before an audience of 250 freshmen students from 32 countries including Netherland, Russia, Malaysia, the US, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Canada and more, and this diversity in the range of countries demonstrates the global connectedness of SKKU. The event started with a welcoming address by the Director of International Affairs (Park Byung-Ju). While in the morning, students were informed on school life, how to live in Korea, using the library and dormitory, in the afternoon they were introduced to the Chinese International Students Association, the Korean interdisciplinary program, the Korean Studies program and how to register for courses. Senior international students also attended the event to talk about their experiences and give wholehearted advice on living abroad as a student. There are 514 foreign students entering SKKU this semester, who start their study in various areas from August 31. - SKKU Institute of Confucian Philosophy & Culture’s holds International conference
- Korea, China and Japan scholars come together to find ways in eastern philosophy for varying cultures to coexist while respecting each others differences. Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) Institute of Confucian Philosophy & Culture announced on August 2, that they will be holding the 6th Korea, China, Japan joint international conference on ‘Multi-cultural society coexistence and eastern philosophy’ with China’s Shandong University ‘Philosophy and Social Development Institute’ and Japan’s East Japan International University ‘Eastern Philosophy & Culture Institute’ at the 600th Anniversary Building on August 7. As the barriers between nations gradually fade away, people of different cultures and experiences mix and develop the world into a multi-cultural society, but with that, the conflict, discrimination and strife due to cultural differences also slowly rises. Through the conference scholars share that the key point is how mankind can recognize each others differences and plan coexistence and peace, and wish to find the answer in easter philosophy that emphasizes harmony and confluence. At the conference a total of 11 scholars , 4 Chinese, 4 Japanese and 3 Korean are expected to make a presentation.

- Confucian Studies, Dean Shin Jeong-geun stirring humanities’ spring breezev
- ‘Human City Jongno, 2015 Spring &Summer Program’ starts in Hanuri hall in Jongno’s municipal building. Dean Shin(College of Confucian Studies and Eastern Philosophy), who is also in charge of the Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU) Institute of Confucian Philosophy and Culture, will start off this year’s program with his lecture ‘Understanding the humanities’ kingdom of Joseon through it’s palaces’. The program was selected in a contest, ‘2014 Humanities City Support Project’ hosted by the National Research Foundation of Korea, when the Jongno’s ‘Humanities City Jongno, Finding the Future in 600 Years of Tradition’ was selected. The program starts off with the theme ‘Palaces’ that begins on the 26 and ends in late July. In order to enhance their understanding and provide the opportunity to experience humanities in the palaces first hand, the lecture will be held in 10 palaces, Changduck Palace Kyungbok Palace, Un-Heun Palace, Changkyung Palace etc. Anyone interested in humanities can apply for the lectures, free of charge.
