♦ Features
• The porous gel matrix acts as a molecular filter, allowing small molecules to enter the pores and elute slowly, and large molecules to be excluded from the pores and eluted quickly.
• As a result, molecules are classified according to their molecular size. This method is particularly effective in isolating proteins, polysaccharides, enzymes, and synthetic polymers.
