- Agreement for R&E with Gyeonggi Science High School for the Gifted: 18 Labs Joined from Science
- It was 2009 when SKKU and Gyeonggi Science High School for the Gifted established the memorandum of understanding with an aim to come up with some ideas regarding comprehensive institutional support for future scientists. Since then, SKKU and GSHS have been working on a variety of programs, such as summer/winter laboratory internship and intellectual/resource exchanges. However, the year of 2015 will be another milestone for “two schools“, and probably for entire secondary and tertiary education society, witnessing the establishment of agreement for Research and Education (R&E) Program offered collaboratively by SKKU and GSHS. The singing ceremony was held on November 30, 2015 at the Office of the Executive Vice President of the Natural Sciences Campus, having VP YOO Jibeom, Dean KWON Young-Uk of the College of Science, Principal of GSHS PARK Wan-kyu and related figures including the steering committee members. This is expected to pay the way for the advanced collaboration between the institutions in the forthcoming days by better managing and supervising the program more professionally and finding the best match for GSHS high schoolers and SKKU researchers for better education and research. Through a series of efforts for bilateral collaboration up until now, it is anticipated that more than forty SKKU laboratories will declare being able to invite talented students for the year of 2016, which is a significant rise from this year with twenty three participating researchers. From the College of Science, eighteen labs will be participating.
