The Physics Festival, an annual special lecture program organized by the Department of Physics, invited 300 middle and high school students in Gyeonggi-do to the Natural Sciences Campus from May 21 to June 11 on every Saturday.
Its primary objective is to contribute neighboring communities by donating talents of physicists of the College of Science and create more physics-friendly educational environments to educate future scientists.
Professor KIM Beomjun, director of the program this year, and a number of other physics professors including the chair of the department Dr. Rhee Joo Yull were delighted to share their knowledge and engage with the young students.
The Physics Festival is gaining more value, popularity, and practicability in line with the Korean Government’s recent implementation of free-semester plan for middle school education, providing quality and organized opportunity to community students to learn about basic understanding and interesting stories about physics out of the classroom.
