- Universities started using various utilization such as bio fusion research · industry academia etc. Biotechnology has raised interest in its potential for utilization with the fourth industrial revolution for features that can be in various utilization such as medicine, drug manufacture and health care. The Sungkyunkwan University has established the Department of Bio-Mechanic Engineering that combines mechanical engineering and electronic engineering. This department focuses on two areas: mechatronics and biomedical engineering. Mechatronics field deals with developing the necessary devices and systems for living organisms. Also, Mechatronics field is researching element technologies such as system, sensor, and safety inspection which are widely used in the bio industry. Medical engineering field is researching signals and systems in living bodies such as medical image signal processing and analysis, rehabilitation and artificial organ development. - The seminar about 'Designed exosome as a platform for therapeutic applications’ was held in the Department of Genetic Engineering The Department of Genetic Engineering invited Doctor Yang Yoo-soo, from the Center for Theragnosis, Biomedical Research Institute Korea Institute of Science and Technology, on April and she gave a seminar on “Designed exosome as a platform for therapeutic applications” Recently, The team which is belongs Dr. Yang has developed engineered exosomes with functional proteins on the exosomal membranes, which could act on deep penetration, or target membrane modifications. These modifications facilitate in enhancing the efficacy of exosomal drugs. Their investigations serve to both improve our understanding of natural exosome biology in intermembrane signaling and also enable its translation into novel therapeutics. - The seminar about 'Evolving Spindlin1 Small Molecule Inhibitors Using Protein Microarrays' was held
- The seminar about 'Evolving Spindlin1 Small Molecule Inhibitors Using Protein Microarrays' was held in the Department of Genetic Engineering. The Department of Genetic Engineering invited Prof. Bae Nark-hyun, from University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, USA, and he gave a seminar on “Evolving Spindlin1 Small Molecule Inhibitors Using Protein Microarrays”. The seminar dealt with the discovery of inhibitors of methyl- and acetyl-binding domains and provided evidence for the “druggability” of epigenetic effector molecules. He said the protein microarrays can be used as a platform to “target hop” and identify small molecules that bind and compete with domain–motif interactions.
