In this course, we study an introduction to applied mathematics. Topics include applied problems (in natural science, engineering, and social science such as economics), approximate problems relative to calculus, Laplace transformation, Fourier transformation, and vector analysis. Also, we introduce special functions and general Fourier series.

In this course, we study discrete mathematics that is closely related to computer science, applied and industrial mathematics, statistics, algebra, social science and is emphasized on practicability of mathematics. The topics that we cover are logic for various proof methods, function and relation, counting methods, permutation and combination, pigeon hole principle, recurrence relation and recursive sequence, optimization problem, and graph theory.

In this course, students will explore instructional approach for diverse learners. Specifically, students will investigate how the teaching methods need to be varied according to students’ characteristics such as gender, cultural background, achievement level, and socioeconomic status. Finally, students will discuss educational issues relating to diverse learners and appropriate teaching approach for them.
