- 2016 Workshop on Matrices and Operator Organized by Math Faculty
- 2016 Workshop on Matrices and Operator, organized by Professor LIM Yong Do and LEE Ho soo at the Department of Mathematics, will be held from July 3rd to 6th in Jeju Island. A number of mathematicians from China, Taiwan, Canada, Australia, USA, will be joining the workshop for scientific discussion and lectures. - 2016 Physics Festival Embraces Secondary Education in Gyeonggi-do
- The Physics Festival, an annual special lecture program organized by the Department of Physics, invited 300 middle and high school students in Gyeonggi-do to the Natural Sciences Campus from May 21 to June 11 on every Saturday. Its primary objective is to contribute neighboring communities by donating talents of physicists of the College of Science and create more physics-friendly educational environments to educate future scientists. Professor KIM Beomjun, director of the program this year, and a number of other physics professors including the chair of the department Dr. Rhee Joo Yull were delighted to share their knowledge and engage with the young students. The Physics Festival is gaining more value, popularity, and practicability in line with the Korean Government’s recent implementation of free-semester plan for middle school education, providing quality and organized opportunity to community students to learn about basic understanding and interesting stories about physics out of the classroom.

- Bioscience Prof. KIM Cheorl-Ho Attends 2nd Glycobiology World Congress, Will Deliver Keynote Speech
- Professor KIM Cheorl-Ho of the Department of Biological Sciences will be present at the 2nd Glycobiology World Congress, invited as a keynote speaker to deliver a lecture with the topic of ‘Carbohydrate xenoantigens in pig to human xenotransplantation’. He will attend the Congress from August 29 to 31 for three days along with a group of graduate students to represent the bioscience discipline of our university. - Prof. Nhan Phu Chong Lectuered at 10th Korea Operator Algebra Seminar
- One of the international faculty members at the Department of Mathematics, Professor Nhan Phu Chong, attended the 10th Korea Operator Algebra Seminar as an invited lecturer. The seminar was held in Yang Pyeong, Gyonggi-do, from April 8 to 10 and he was invited with a few more international mathematicians, Professor Xin at Queen Mary University London and Professor Franz Luef Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

- Bioscience Dept Invited Esteemed Scholars to 2016 EMBO Global Exchange Lecture Course
- The Department of Biological Sciences and the Research Center for Basic Science under the College of Science recently invited fifty rising researchers and sixteen esteemed international biologists from Italy, UK, Denmark, Australia, Germany, Holland, to 2016 EMBO Global Exchange Lecture Course ‘Structural and Biophysical Methods for Biological Macromolecules in Solution from June 19 to 26. (http://events.embo.org/16-macromolecule/) This scientific event was mainly organized by Professor LEE Sangho of the bioscience department and aimed to share the latest knowledge and research experiences on biological sciences from international perspectives.

- Student Mobility To Be Created with Pontifical Catholic University of Peru
- SKKU Science established a student exchange agreement with Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, which is known as the most prestigious university in Peru, in June 2016. It is a remarkable consequence of the College of Science’s visit to Lima last November to attend the study recruitment fair hosted by PRONABEC. The College of Engineering and College of Information and Communication Engineering also signed the agreement jointly with the College of Science to increase the chance of academic and student mobility collaboration. The university-wide MoU was also formed between two Presidents on top of the college-level contract for student exchange program.

- Student Exchange Agreement Established with Linnaeus University, Sweden
- The College of Science entered into a new partnership with the Faculty of Technology, Linnaeus University (LNU) in Sweden. It was the year of 2005 when SKKU created university-widestudent exchange program with LNU. Through the established agreement, the College of Science is going to provide study abroad opportunity at LNU to Physics and Mathematics students from 2017 spring.

- College of Science Represented at NAFSA 2016 in Denver
- The College of Science represented itself at NAFSA 2016 held in Denver in conjunction with the central office for international network and relations. Mr. KIM Kyuseok (Mick) who is looking after international relations and programs at the College of Science attended the annual conference and meet with partner, or potential partner, universities overseas well-known for their scientific and educational caliber in natural sciences, such as Kyoto University, The University of Western Australia, University of Edinburgh, Brown University, Colombia University, University of Texas at Austin, Technological University of Munich, Heidelberg University, University of Newcastle, Koc University, Ghent University.

- Commencement of First Dual Degree Students at University of Texas at Dallas
- Two of our science students who were sent to the University of Texas at Dallas School of Natural Science and Mathematics as dual degree student were recently awarded a bachelor’s degree from UT Dallas. They started the program 2014 fall semester and have walked through rigorous academic work for two years with other local and international students. Their academic credits have been, or will be, transferred to our College. through which they will graduate from SKKU as well.
