The innovation of new business model is important along with technological innovation to succeed in planning and developing new business. This course will teach theoretical backgrounds on definition and core components of business model, and the impact of technological innovation on business model innovation, and will analyze success factors as well as differentiated points in terms of technology and market of successful business model innovation. In addition, this course will teach how to innovate new business model by designing new business model. Students can learn how to innovate new business model practically as either team or individual level and learn both theoretical and practical aspects of business model innovation after completing the course.

Understanding the need for big data, a key technology trend for management of technology, we learn about the success stories of global leading companies and present data approaches that companies should pursue. Students will learn various of the theoretical contents and practical use cases presented in technical books and papers, and derive data use cases for graduate students' firm environment. In this course, students will learn step by step the process of finding positive cases of what data can provide to a business.

Convergence began in the late 1970s when Professor Negroponte of MIT predicted the combination of telecommunications, broadcasting and media, developed in the 1990s as a 'digital convergence', and since the 2000s, the U.S. and EU have expanded their investment in convergence technology, developing into a convergence of technology, products/services, and interindustry. Convergence has become more valuable in recent years as the complexity of the real world has increased, with the development of a situation that cannot be solved by one technology or solution. At present, convergence is discussed not only in natural science and engineering, but also in social science and humanities, and it can be said that efforts to cross the boundaries between learning, knowledge and technology are essential to implement convergence. This new course aims to address understanding of convergence management, trends in convergence technologies at home and abroad, research on new convergence products/ services and business models, techniques and case studies for commercialization of convergence technologies, especially information and communication technologies.

This course introduces innovation theories, methods, and cases at macro, mezo, and microl levels. Emergence of privated R&D organizations, hub-oriented R&D network, globalziation and CoE, ambidextrous R&D, future-preparedness-oriented innovation, short-term focused innovation will be explained. Students will select a company, and design a new R&D organization for for future growth.

This course introduces the basic theory and algotirhm of AI/Data-based technology commercialization methodologies. The underlying theories of KISTI's practical commercoalization models will be introduced with some practical examples.

This course comprises the turial of existing commercialziation system by KISTI and commercialization practices to solve the practical problems. Using the system, students will assess the IP competency, product competency against foreighn and domestic products and others of a technology-based product of a company.

From conservitive perspectives of financial intermediaries, this course introduces various technology evaluation methods. Students will evaluate technologies of a company by using various methods. The focus is on the practical use of income-based methods. Real option methods will be dealt with to evaluate complex technologies under severe uncertainty

This course aims to learn the IP-R&D strategy establishment methodology, which is a method to plan R&D by using IP and related information comprehensively and use it strategically in corporate management. The first goal is to learn how to find and analyze patent information, including patent indexes, patent data structures, and in-depth analysis frames of patent data. The second goal is to learn IP portfolio construction, technical problem solving methods, and Patent Barrier Overcoming Methodology, which are important modules of IP-R&D. Finally through practice on actual cases, students learn the process of establishing IP-R&D strategies as a working-level company in various internal and external environments.

This course introduce practical know-hows, based on the lecturer’s startup experiences about ideation, market test of ideas, company establishment, startup management, and fund raising. With these methodologies and know-hows learnt, students will practice writing concept proposal, planning market test, analyzing the result of market test, and documenting business plan for their own startup ideas.

Design thinking is a creative strategy used in the design process. Design thinking is also an way of approach that can be used to contemplate problems and solve problems more broadly than professional design practices, and has been applied to industrial and social problems. Design thinking is technically available by applying it to areas other than design, and is a strategic method to maximize value for customers and maximize market opportunities, and uses designers' senses and methods to do this. Design thinking is a practical approach to a problem, a creative solution, and a problem-based or problem-oriented thinking with the intention of producing constructive future results. In the design thinking process, students can experience and master the 5 core step of design thinking which are conssist of empathy sharing ability, definition ability, ideation by 2D, 3D visual communication skill, speedy prototyping, and test process to learn innovative and creative problem-solving capabilities
ETM5103 Technology Commercialization and Data Analysis 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
Technology commercialization mainly have dealt with mass production economics, regulation, sales and customer exposure. However, accelerating digitalization, platform growth and data analytics are noticeably changing such traditional ways. We will introduce various cases of corporate data applications for technology commercialization, and also some mainstream analytics models. Some real cases will be introduced by corporate experts. Also, four main models comprising investment analysis, technology commercialization bottleneck analysis, technology commercialization capability diagnosis, and product competitiveness evaluation will be touched by the instructor.

In this course, the understanding of the overall energy industry is enhanced by understanding the market status of the energy industry and the main technologies of each energy source. It learns about future energy technology development trends through R&D status and technology roadmap in the energy field, also predicts environmental changes in future society using scenario planning techniques, and builds development scenarios for the future energy industry. We derive promising industrial fields according to future scenarios, build a business model for the target industrial field using the business model canvas, and design a business strategy. 1. I will talk about the process to discover and develop the bio new pharmaceuticals and we will discuss the strategy for the global technology transfer. I will introduce the following subjects in detail, industrial prospects of red-bio field, new pharmaceutical development process, the strategy for globally competitive technology development, partnering strategy to transfer the technology to the global big guys, entry strategy to China market, valuation of bio assets, deal term, due diligence, patent strategy and the recent high-end technology trends in the red-bio field if available.

This course is a convergence course designed to explore cutting-edge technology through the window of innovative strategic management. Nanotechnology and advanced materials, which are future convergence technologies, are platform technologies able to cross-over the various industry fields. It plans to acquire technical knowledge at the basic level of knowledge about promising technologies such as nanotechnology and advanced materials, and to learn policy and strategic approach cases for R&D innovation in the government, industry and research institutes. In addition, we plan to learn about the trends and characteristics of major flagship and new growth industries that are developing through convergence with advanced materials and nanotechnology, ESG-related issues, and case studies of corporate business models.
