Whitely Pannell, FMBA’21, discovered SKK GSB through the law school at Indiana University. Now she is taking to the next level for her JD and will get dual degree at SKK GSB – Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
"I discovered Sungkyunkwan University Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB) through my law school at Indiana University. SKK GSB and Indiana have a strategic partnership where law students complete their first year of law school and journey to Seoul to study business for a year."
"The law students complete the program on an accelerated schedule and return to Indiana to complete their law degree. I saw this as an amazing opportunity because it offers the chance to gain an additional degree in a field that will assist me during my career."
"I also understood the benefit of having an international experience at a globally ranked business school. Since being at SKK GSB, I’ve become more culturally aware and I’ve learned how to work and communicate with people from all over the world. This will certainly be a benefit when entering a job market that is continually becoming more globalized."
"Prior to coming to SKK GSB, I had no knowledge about business. I studied politics and pre-law during undergrad and it was a natural progression for me to pursue law school next, but I always thought about the possibility of pursuing a joint JD/MBA. It was almost fate that this opportunity was revealed to me."
"During my time here I’ve taken multiple classes in all fields applicable to business: finance, marketing, management, and accounting. I’ve learned so much about economics, monetary and fiscal policy, marketing and branding, investing, how accounts work, and how different markets operate."
"The knowledge and business principles that I’ve gained from these classes has without a doubt strengthened my skill set and has helped mold me into a stronger candidate for the American workforce."
"After I complete this year at SKK GSB, I will go to New York to embark on my summer internship before returning to Indiana in the fall."
"I still have two years of law school to complete. Law school is normally three years, but my decision to pursue an MBA added an extra year to my educational journey."
"I will graduate in 2022 with my other three classmates who are also SKK GSB fellows: @Michelle Johnston @Michael Osborne @Samuel Russell. We will be the only students from our law school class who will graduate with both a Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Business Administration."
